Be kind to yourself

Think of a time when someone was kind to you, then reflect on how you felt. Now think of a time when you were kind to a good friend, and reflect on how you felt. Hold those feelings in your mind.

Ask yourself when were you last this kind to yourself. Now see if you can give yourself the same kindness and care you’d give to your good friend!

To help you do this, first write a list of the things that nourish you – perhaps having some time just for yourself, doing something creative, spending time on your favourite hobby, getting plenty of sleep, or giving yourself permission to ‘do nothing’ and simply ‘be’. Then be kind to yourself at least once a day, using your list as inspiration!
