Suspend problem-solving

One of the things that can carry our minds away from the present moment is what Padraig O’Morain calls “our addiction to mulling over problems.”

This week, try following Padraig’s suggestion—set aside a short period every day during which you promise not to solve a single problem in your life! Padraig writes, “During that time you will find it much easier to be present and mindful.”

Good times for doing this include during meals, when you’re commuting or tidying up, for example.

The moment is now. Take a break from problem-solving.
